Whatcom family Care Network launched a community support program and began making donations.
The physician-owned group of medical clinics made its first donations to Whatcom Hospice and Hospice of the Northwest. The combined $3,000 donation will go toward financial assistance programs for uninsured patients; medical equipment, medications and comfort items; and grief support groups and community education, according to a press release.
The program is part of a larger community support initiative. Family Care Network’s other programs include a Fall Food Drive that donated $3,850 and 874 pounds of food to local food banks, and a small gift donation program that awarded $250 to Mount Vernon Trail Builders, a trail advocacy group.
Family Care Network has 11 clinics in Whatcom and Skagit County.
