The Haggen grocery store in Ferndale will officially re-open as the company’s newest “Northwest Fresh” remodeled concept location,with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
The grocery chain launched the major rebranding effort in 2011. The Ferndale store is the eighth and final location in Whatcom County to receive a remodel.
The Northwest Fresh theme places a focus on natural and locally sourced products.
“Northwest Fresh is our promise to deliver homegrown quality and delightful experiences while supporting a connected community and sustainable local food economy,” Clement Stevens, Haggen’s senior vice president of merchandising, said, in a press release. “We are excited to bring this experience to the Ferndale community.”
In addition to the Feb. 13 ceremony, the Ferndale store will host reopening festivities the following weekend, Feb. 16-17, with activities including a kid’s scavenger hunt, a grocery giveaway and a cake and coffee reception.
