The Ferndale Library Project has more money coming its way, as the Whatcom Community Foundation announced a new $500,000 matching gift has been pledged to project by an anonymous donor.
The latest gift will allow fundraisers to match all new donations to the project, according to Mauri Ingram, president and CEO of the foundation.
With a previous $1 million matching donation challenge met, every dollar of the $550,000 levy recently approved by Ferndale voters will be matched, according to the foundation.
The project is a collaboration between the city of Ferndale, Whatcom County Library System and Whatcom Community Foundation. The new library will be built near Ferndale’s City Hall on Main Street.
