Fighter planes and Mustangs at Heritage Flight Museum show

The Heritage Flight Museum in Bellingham hosts its 2012 “Props & Ponies” show on Saturday, Aug. 18, featuring a variety of Ford Mustang cars alongside iconic P-51 Mustang fighter aircrafts.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and features 85 Ford Mustangs on display along with up to four P-51s. The appearance of the fighter planes is dependent upon weather and maintenance factors, according to the museum.

A kickoff fundraiser takes place from 5:30-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, at the museum, located at the Bellingham International Airport, 4165 Mitchell Way. The event will feature tastings of local wines, beers and food from Masquerade Wine Company, Airfield Estates, Kulshan Brewing Company, Flyers Brewery and other vendors. It will also feature live music by Chico’s Paradise.

Tickets for the Friday kickoff cost $25 and are available on the museum’s website. The fundraiser is for adults 21 years of age or older.
