Former Bellingham mayor Dan Pike will be a featured speaker during the next installment of Western Washington University’s Huxley College of the Environment Speaker Series at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, in Room 204 of WWU’s Academic West building.
Pike’s presentation during the free event is titled “Bellingham’s Waterfront: Where We’re Going, Where We Should Be Going, and How My Huxley Education Helps Me Understand the Difference.”
With its winter speaker series, Huxley is featuring distinguished alumni as guests.
Pike served as the 20th mayor of Bellingham. He lost a re-election bid to current mayor Kelli Linville in a close 2011 election.
He is currently the president of Sustainable Solutions, a consulting firm that specializes in helping firms in need of strategic, transportation and management planning and assistance, according to a press release from WWU.
Pike graduated from WWU with a bachelor’s degree in 1994, and then attended Harvard University, earning a master’s degree in public administration in 1998.
