The Department of Labor and Industries is offering a free workshop for business owners and managers on Feb. 29 at L&I’s Bellingham office to answer questions about basic L&I requirements and resources.
The “Employer’s Introduction to L&I” provides information critical to business owners and managers for understandingworkers’ compensation, wage and hour rules, workplace safety requirements, and contractor registration rules.
“This workshop offers an easy way to gain essential information,” said L&I’s Small Business Liaison Celia Nightingale. “Having a strong understanding of L&I basics can go a long way toward saving businesses time and money.”
The workshop covers employers’ rights and responsibilities and provides an overview of the services L&I provides. Employers who attend will also learn about claims management strategies, risk management, and quarterly reporting requirements.
The workshop will be held Feb. 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at L&I’s Bellingham office, 1720 Ellis St., Ste 200, 98225.
