Gary Honcoop, co-owner and president of Roosendaal-Honcoop Construction, Inc., was honored Dec. 16 as Builder of the Year by the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County.
Honcoop, a longtime active BIAWC member, was commended for his commitment to the organization. Also, Honcoop has devoted many hours advocating for property owners on urban growth areas, limited areas of more intensive rural development (LAMIRDs) and land-use rights, according to the BIAWC.
Honcoop founded Roosendaal-Honcoop Construction, a Whatcom County general contractor, in 1979 with another lifelong Lynden resident, Roger Roosendaal. The company offers extensive experience in residential construction, both homes and remodels, as well as commercial, industrial and pre-engineered steel construction.
Its recent projects include the new Barron Heating & Air Conditioning facility in Ferndale, numerous Peoples Bank branches, the Liberty Park residential community in Ferndale, Northwest Indian College’s Center for Student Success and the Port of Skagit County’s South Yard Basin Building.
