GB Heron Jewelers plans closing sale, April 25

After more than 30 years in business, jeweler Pam Hunnicutt is closing GB Heron Jewelers at 1301 Cornwall Ave. in downtown Bellingham.

Hunnicutt will hold a liquidation sale at the business beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 25. The longtime business owner said the time has come for her to downsize. Hunnicutt plans to move into a smaller space and do business as a private jeweler.

“The decision to close the store was one of the hardest I have ever had to make,” Hunnicutt said, in a press release. “But the business is all encompassing. It’s time for me to step back and enjoy life at a slower pace.”

During the April 25 sale, pieces from the multi-million dollar collection at GB Heron will be up for sale, including diamonds, semi-precious gemstone jewelry, sterling silver and gold and platinum designer pieces.

GB Heron opened in 1982. The company is well-known in Whatcom County for its custom design work.
