Charity golf tourney raises more than $12,000

The Bellingham Business Journal

Chmelik Sitkin & Davis, a Bellingham law firm, recently held its 11th annual charitable golf tournament, which raised $12,500 to help support the Support Officer Community Care program.

Volunteers from Support Officer Community Care assist police and fire personnel during tragedies that involve an unexpected death.  They help families to cope with loss after paramedics and police leave. They also provide crisis services to the fire and police personnel.

“The Support Officer volunteers really provide a much needed service to local families in need,” said Jon Sitkin of Chmelik Sitkin & Davis. “They are the unsung heroes of these tragedies.”

Each year the firm hosts 80 golfers in a nine-hole tournament at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club. More than $130,000 has been raised for local charities through the firm’s annual golf tournament.
