Bill Gorman has stepped down as interim director of the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry, although he will remain connected to the organization in a volunteer role, The Bellingham Business Journal has confirmed.
Kathy Herndon of VSH CPAs, a co-chair of the chamber’s executive committee, said Gorman officially ended his time as interim director Dec. 31. The executive committee is continuing its search for a new permanent president for the organization, and it will likely make an announcement as to its next steps within two weeks, she said.
Herndon added that the committee was grateful to Gorman for his time and his efforts leading the Chamber. He joined as its interim director in May 2013.
Gorman could not yet be reached for comment.
The Chamber’s previous president, Ken Oplinger, stepped down last May. Oplinger had held the position since 2003.
