With a growing client base and a community-centered business approach, Greenleaf Bookkeeping and Accounting Services is planning an expansion at its Bellingham office.
Accountant Sara Greenleaf, who owns the company, said she began focusing her business model around Bellingham firms several years ago after seeing a need for good financial forecasting and business management consulting.
“I just decided I wanted to focus my education and energy on the businesses that make a difference to Bellingham’s economic vitality,” Greenleaf said, in a press release. “To me, that means the small business and the nonprofits that serve our community.”
Since 2005, Greenleaf’s portfolio has grown to include more than 120 clients.
The company plans to move into a larger space on the third floor of the PSE building located at 1329 N. State St. in downtown Bellingham.
Greenleaf will also expand its services to include a separate tax team and a ‘local-centric’ business and marketing consultation division.
In September, the company brought on Korinne Megard as the new accounts controller. Megard joined the firm with more than 28 years of bookkeeping experience, specializing in construction management.
The company has also hired Denise Irey as operations manager and director of marketing.
Irey has spent the past 15 years as a marketing and business development manager.
Additionally, Irey has worked with a number of nonprofits in Whatcom and King counties.
