The nonprofit housing agency Lydia Place is raising funds for its programs to help end homelessness in Whatcom County with a “Handbags for Housing” handbag auction and fashion show from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10.
The fashion show will feature outfits from 11 local retail and consignment stores, and a live handbag auction will allow guests to take home some of the evening’s featured items. Along with the main event, there will also be appetizers and a beer, wine and cocktail tasting.
“Ladies, come ready to shop a little and have a lot of fun,” said Lydia Place Executive Director Emily O’Connor, in a press release. “We have enjoyed putting this event together and encourage people to come help out a good cause while enjoying an evening with friends.”
The fundraiser will be held at Baker Creek Place, 1650 Baker Creek Place in Bellingham (the main office of the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County).
Tickets cost $20. The event’s directors also ask that guests bring a handbag to donate to the auction.
