The nonprofit housing agency Lydia Place is raising funds for its programs to help end homelessness in Whatcom County with a “Handbags for Housing” handbag auction and fashion show from 5-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4.
The event will feature more than 500 handbags for sale for under $25, a fashion show with outfits from more than 15 local boutiques, a live handbag auction, wine and cocktail samples and gourmet appetizers.
Event partners are Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy and the Whatcom County Association of Realtors. It’s also sponsored by dozens local businesses.
The fundraiser is at the Depot Market Square, at 1100 Railroad Ave.
Tickets start at $25 and event directors also ask that guests bring a handbag from their closet to donate to the auction.
In the past 12 months, Lydia Place has helped more than 250 homeless families find housing, according to a press release from the nonprofit. Find more information at www.lydiaplace.org.
