Hearing Northwest to move into Adich clinic space

By Lance Henderson

Hearing Northwest, local hearing aid specialists who provide hearing checkups and in-home visits, are currently in the process of purchasing a new office at 1470 Ellis St., the former home of The Adich Clinic, which recently moved to 1756 Iowa St.

Patti Burns, owner of Hearing Northwest, said the business’s current location at 1321 King St., Suite 2 is only about 1,000 square feet and the new location would bring them up to around 1,800 square feet.

Burns said the larger space will take them from two exam rooms to five after some light remodeling.

“I want to knock a few windows in there to brighten the place up,” Burns said.

As plans have solidified, Burns has been updating a bulletin board in her reception area letting patients know when and where the company will move. She said she will even include color swatches as they ponder interior design ideas.

“I want them to feel included in the move,” Burns said.

As many businesses continue to feel negative effects from the recession, Burns said the economic downturn has presented her with lower borrowing rates and property prices.

“It is not costing me much more to buy than I pay to rent now,” Burns said.

Burns said the deal will close at the end of July.
