Home Attendant Care begins annual charity drive

Home Attendant Care has started its sixth annual Spirit of the Holidays program that pledges support to local nonprofits.

Four charities from Whatcom and Skagit counties have been selected to receive donations this year: Bellingham Food Bank, Alzheimer Society of Washington, Marianne’s House and Skagit County Community Action Agency.

Since 2008, Debbie Gann of Home Attendant Care has used the fundraising drive to raise thousands of dollars for local charities.

“Charitable organizations do an incredible job serving members of our community, and their needs are often greatest during the holiday season. We think the simple act of reallocating a company’s corporate gift giving budget into nonprofits is a win-win situation,” Gann said, in a news release.

Home Attendant Care, which provides personal-care services to seniors in Whatcom, Skagit, Island, and San Juan counties,  engages the help of clients, employees and business associates by tucking program information inside its annual Christmas card. Recipients are asked to help decide how much Home Attendant care will donate to each of the four nonprofits.

Those wishing to learn more about starting a Spirit of the Holidays program at their business or place of employment can contact Gann for details. Contact information and more about the company is available online at www.homeattendantcare.com.
