Hoofbeats English Tack & Apparel, a new retail shop for equestrian gear, opened March 19 at 3206 Orleans St. Suite 103 near Tech One Electronics.

Owners Jan and Dan Homel had considered doing just online sales, but decided to open the 900-square-foot store after hearing positive feedback from friends and fellow horse enthusiasts.

“We thought about how excited we would be if an English tack shop opened around here so we decided to do it,” Jan Homel said.

The store sells all the horse essentials, from saddles to grooming equipment to proper riding apparel.
