In an effort to draw more attention and tourists to North Bellingham, the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce and Industry is launching a new annual event called Hoppingham: a Hops and Harvest Festival.
Hoppingham, a celebration of Bellingham’s craft beer community, aims to attract beer enthusiasts, tourists and locals, according to a press release from the chamber.
The first ever Hoppingham will go from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Bellis Fair Mall parking lot. Festival plans include a car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a beer garden open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., live music, and a Seahawks rally in anticipation of the game with the Green Bay Packers the following day.
“We want to bring the community together for one big celebration before the summer is over,” said Guy Occhiogrosso, chamber president & CEO, in the press release. “As the event grows in size and popularity, we intend for it to become a tourist destination and a signature Bellingham event.”
Proceeds will go toward chamber programs and events.
