Tristan Hurlbert, a staff accountant at Varner Sytsma & Herndon, fulfilled the requirements for a certified public accountant license.Hurlbert was hired in 2010 following an internship with the company. His job focuses mainly on audits of private companies and employee benefit plans. He said he is drawn to audits because of the detail involved in learning about businesses.

He graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in business administration in 2009 and his masters degree in accounting in 2010.

“Tristan’s a natural when it comes to being analytical,” Tom Harding, Hurlbert’s manager, said in a press release. “He’s also great at ensuring the jobs flow smoothly for our team and the clients.”
