Janice Oberg-Barrett celebrates 40 years in floral design

The Bellingham Business Journal

Janice Oberg-Barrett, owner of Belle Flora in downtown Bellingham, will have been a florist for 40 years in April. Her career began in the ’60s at her parents’ shop, Red Top Floral and Nursery in Ferndale.

In the ’70s, Oberg-Barrett purchased Red Top from her parents and moved the shop to Bellingham. The shop’s location and name changed several times over the years, going from the Lakeway Center as Oberg’s Red Top Floral to a former restaurant to Bellingham’s Daylight Building as Belle Flora, the shops present location and name.

Oberg-Barrett said her shop remains competitive by employing the best in floral design and delivery. She said Belle Flora provides customers with unique arrangements for all occasions.
