Jingle Bell Run will raise money, awareness for arthritis

The Arthritis Foundation will host its 25th annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk in Bellingham on Saturday, Dec. 8.

The family-friendly, 5K event raises money and awareness for arthritis, a leading cause of disability in the U.S, according to the foundation.

Participants are encouraged to run or walk in their best holiday-themed gear.

This year’s event will also highlight community contributions made by Barbara Osen, the director of the Arthritis Foundation’s Bellingham office.

Osen, who was diagnosed with arthritis just before her 18th birthday, was instrumental in bringing the Jingle Bell Run to Bellingham and has helped make it one of the most successful such races in the nation, according to the foundation.

The event begins at 8:30 am at Bellingham High School, 2020 Cornwall Ave.
