John Stewart joins Whidbey Island Bank

John Stewart joined Whidbey Island Bank as vice president and commercial banking officer in Burlington, Wash.

Prior to joining Whidbey Island Bank, Stewart was employed by Horizon Bank for ten years, recently serving as senior vice president—chief deposit officer.  Prior positions with Horizon include senior vice president—commercial banking team leader and vice president—commercial banking.  Before joining Horizon, Stewart was with US Bancorp, Boatmen’s First National Bank of Kansas City and First National Bank of Louisville.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Stewart holds a bachelor’s degree in German studies and an MBA in finance and international business.  He is also a graduate of a banking executive development program and has completed numerous finance and banking classes.  Additionally, Stewart has earned the designation of Certified Treasury Professional.

Stewart and his family reside in Bellingham, where he is currently a member of the Bellingham Bay Rotary Club, Association for Financial Professionals and the Northwest Association of Financial Professionals.  He is also a treasurer and past president of the Skagit Community Foundation and treasurer of Campfire USA, Samish Council.
