The state Department of Commerce has announced Joseph Williams to fill the role of director of economic development for the information and communication technology sector. Williams will advise Gov. Jay Inslee, and lead the state’s efforts to grow the information and communication technology sector.

Williams is a former executive at Microsoft and Sun Microsystems. He has also served as the dean of the School of Business, Government and Economics at Seattle Pacific University.
