KAPOW Finalists compete for funding at PechaKucha night

Finalists in Sustainable Connection’s KAPOW competition will compete for funding April 21, on the main stage of the Mount Baker Theatre. Out of almost 25 applications, it has come down to eight finalists in the KAPOW contest — a competition that kicked off earlier this year which invited the community to design inexpensive projects to enhance Bellingham’s downtown.

Now some finalists can win money for their project at Bellingham’s seventh annual PechaKucha Night.

PechaKucha is a simple presentation format in which the presenter has a slideshow with 20 image slides that advance automatically every 20 seconds. The format is meant to constrain presenters to be concise.

Attendees who arrive in super hero costumes will get priority seating. Doors open at 6 p.m.; presentations start at 7 p.m. A donation of $5-10 is suggested.
