In mid November, Tony and Lindsey Moceri will hold a grand opening for their second hair salon, Karibou, which will be located at 1201 11th St. Suite 101. They also own Salon Bellissima, a full-service salon and spa in Fairhaven.
Tony, who is also vice president of Moceri Construction in Fairhaven, said he and his wife decided to open Karibou because a desirable space opened; the 800-square-foot salon is directly across from Village Books in the heart of Fairhaven.
The salon will have six styling stations, all on wheels. Tony said they made them mobile so the space can easily be cleared out and used as an art studio and to host events such as fashion shows featuring items from local boutiques and clothing designers.
“It is going to be a high-end boutique salon,” Tony said. “It’s going to feel more like an art studio in there than a hair salon.”
Tony and Lindsey, who is a hairstylist, designed the salon to be edgy and hip, Tony said, with clean lines and bare walls, except for mirrors and a large white porcelain caribou head.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Nov. 12 and 13. All services will be 50 percent off that weekend. Walk-ins are welcome.
