Keller Williams agents achieve CNE designation

The Bellingham Business Journal

Ten agents from Keller Williams Western Realty in Bellingham received Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designations in November.

The course is designed to help real estate agents increase their negotiation skills to better serve their client’s needs and focuses on the many negotiations that take place in a typical real estate transaction, the various styles of negotiators, and how to deal with them. Additionally, communication skills and the psychology in the negotiation process are studied.

The CNE course is approved for 15 continuing education clock hours in Washington State and is taught nationwide by only 31 instructors. Pat Jerns, team leader/CEO of Keller Williams Realty of Bellingham is certified to teach the CNE course.

“Real estate professionals who take this class are much better able to work through the challenges involved in diverse personalities that come together during any negotiation,” Jerns said.  “It improves not only their sales skills, but life skills in day to day activities.”

Agents included Pete Holeman, RoseMarie Longmire, Janice O’Rourke, Kathy Auerback, Tara Camp, Gordon Suddaby, Grant LaMothe, Kathryn Morice, David Hernandez and Marcia Dickinson.

The Whatcom and Skagit county Associations of Realtors are planning a jointly sponsored class this spring that will be open to all agents needing training. For information, contact Pat Jerns at 360-738-7070.
