After more than 40 years as a landmark in the Fountain District, the giant KFC bucket is coming down to make way for The Fountain, a new coffee and wine bistro.

A sign crew will bring down the bucket between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23 as they continue to transform the space, said owner Jill Holmes in a press release. The bucket will then be sold on Craigslist – no chicken included.

The Fountain will open in mid-December on the site of the former fast food franchise. For more information, visit www.thefountainbistro.com.
