Several businesses and nonprofits in Whatcom County have organized fundraising drives to support relief efforts from the March landslide near Oso, Wash., in Snohomish County.

Landslide relief donations are also being accepted by the American Red Cross. They can be made by calling 800-RED-CROSS (toll-free), or by sending checks to the Mount Baker Chapter of the American Red Cross, 2111 King St., Bellingham, WA 98225.
The Red Cross asks that those offering money specify that their donations are for the Oso relief efforts.

Bull-riding fans give more than $5,000 to Oso
Attendees of the Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division competition, held April 5-7 in Lynden, gave $5,017 to the American Red Cross’ Oso relief efforts.
The donation drive was organized by the Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center, the sponsor of the bull-riding event.

Village Books/Paper Dreams accepting Oso donations
Customers at Village Books and Paper Dreams, located at 1200 11th St. in Fairhaven, are encouraged to donated $1 or more to Oso relief efforts when they make purchases, and the stores will match the first $1,000 raised.
The fundraising effort launched April 5, and raised more than $700 in its first four days, according to Chuck Robinson, co-owner of Village Books and Paper Dreams.
The effort will continue throughout April. All money raised will be given to the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen hosts Oso fundraiser
Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen, located at 601 W. Holly St. in Bellingham, will host a fundraising event for Oso relief efforts from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, May 2.
The event will feature local beers on draft, food, live music, raffle prizes and a silent auction. Proceed will go to the Red Cross.
The fundraiser in being coordinated by owners and staff at Chuckanut Brewery and organizers of Bellingham Beer Week.
