It only took Kulshan Brewing Company three years to outgrow its original brewery and tap room.
After almost a year of construction, Kulshan Brewing opened its second brewery and tap room on Saturday, May 30, about two months after the company’s third anniversary party. The new brewery, called K2, is at 1538 Kentucky St., a block north of Wilson Motors Nissan.
The brewery is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily—slightly shorter hours than Kulshan Brewing’s original location at 2238 James St., which is open daily until 10 p.m.
K2’s 15,000-square-foot facility has refrigerated storage, a tap room, a mezzanine with offices, and enough brewing equipment to pump out five times more beer than the James St. brewery.
Brewers will primarily craft big batches of Kulshan’s more popular beers at K2. Brewing at the original location will focus on seasonal and specialty beers.
K2 doesn’t have a kitchen but it is served by food trucks on a rotating schedule.
