Labels Women’s Consignment Store celebrates its 10th year in business with snacks, refreshments and prize drawings from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, at both of its Bellingham locations, one at 3927 Northwest Ave., and the other at 2332 James St.
Store owner Sage Bishop started the business in 2004 with a single shop on Ellis Street in Bellingham. Labels has since left that location to focus on its other two stores that have higher traffic volumes.
The company’s Northwest Avenue store opened in early 2012; its James Street store opened last May. Bishop also runs a spa called Polished, which is located next door to the James Street Labels.
Bishop recently announced Labels has surpassed 29,000 consigners, the equivalent of one in every seven Whatcom County residents, although the business also draws customers from British Columbia and counties to the south.
Labels has 35 employees, including 23 working full time.
