The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries will hold a free Bellingham workshop for business owners and managers from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Feb. 29.
The workshop, titled “Employer’s Introduction to L&I,” will be in the department’s Bellingham office, located at 1720 Ellis St. Suite 200. It will provide information about workers’ compensation, wage and hour rules, workplace safety requirements and contractor registration rules.
“This workshop offers an easy way to gain essential information,” Celia Nightingale, the department’s small business liaison, said in a Feb. 16 press release. “Having a strong understanding of L&I basics can go a long way toward saving businesses time and money.”
The workshop will cover employers’ rights and responsibilities, as well as provide an overview of the services the department provides provides. There will also be information on claims management strategies, risk management and quarterly reporting requirements.
