About 70 members of the motorcycle group Ladies of Harley will meet Sept. 21-22 at the Lakeway Inn in Bellingham for their fourth-annual statewide summit.
Local organizer Angie Huggins of Bellingham said Ladies of Harley is comprised of women who are members of a Harley Owners Group chapter. The local Mount Baker HOG is sponsored by Mount Baker Harley-Davidson.
The love of riding motorcycles brings women together, she said.
“You can see things on a bike that you don’t see in a car,” Huggins said, in a press release. “It’s just awesome.”
Group members work to dispel negative stereotypes of motorcycle groups, raising money for scholarships and various charity events.
The summit at the Lakeway Inn will include workshops on motorcycle safety, maintenance and detailing, as well as packing for motorcycle trips.
Ladies of Harley also plan to participate in the 31st annual Oyster Run on Sept. 23. It is one of the largest motorcycle runs in the Pacific Northwest.
