Last chance to apply for marijuana retail license

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board will stop accepting marijuana retail license applications on March 31 at 5 p.m. The board started processing additional applications on Oct. 12, to begin the process of integrating medical marijuana into the recreational marketplace. Now the board says they have more applicants than they have extra licenses to grant.

At the beginning of the year, the board lifted the statewide cap on marijuana retail licenses from 334 to 556, in order to accommodate medical marijuana outlets that needed to apply for new retail licenses.
