Lathrop named director of local architects group

Rose Lathrop has been named executive director of the Northwest American Institute of Architects.

Lathrop is a graduate of Western Washington University’s Huxley College of the Environment, with a degree in urban planning and environmental policy, as well as a LEED AP and Certified Sustainable Building Advisor.

She has been the green building and smart growth program manager at the nonprofit Sustainable Connections in Bellingham for nearly two years, and also previously served on the organization’s board of directors.

Lathrop plans to continue her work with Sustainable Connections as she takes over at the NWAIA, where she will coordinate new outreach and education programs for architects and the general public.
