Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center, Whatcom Community College, and the NW Innovation Resource Center teamed up to offer a class called Launch and Build Your Business. The course will help entrepreneurs start a new business or grow an existing one, according to a press release.
The classes, which begin Sept. 25 and run through Oct. 30, will be held at Whatcom Community College and be taught by Jennifer Shelton of WWU’s Small Business Development Center and NW Innovation Resource Center’s Lara Merriam-Smith.
Classes will run from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., allowing business owners and people who are working to take a long lunch break and attend the course, Shelton said.
This will be the third year the class is offered. Several previous students have started businesses, and another is getting ready to expand his business, Shelton said.
Enrollment costs $259 and includes three textbooks, a six-month subscription to Business Plan Pro’s LivePlan software, six class sessions with lunch, and access to Palo Alto Software’s online Start, Run & Grow Your Business curriculum.
An hour-long information session will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11 at Whatcom Community College’s Foundation Building at 333 Calluna Court.
