Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center, Whatcom Community College and the Northwest Innovation Resource Center are hosting a free information session on the “Launch and Build Your Business” training course, from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, in Room 201C of the Foundation Building at Whatcom Community College, 333 Calluna Court in Bellingham.
The training course is geared toward business owners, entrepreneurs or anyone wanting to write a business plan and learn the basics of starting and operating a small business.
Registration, which is available through WCC’s Continuing Education office, costs $259.
The course combines self-paced online instruction and weekly roundtable seminars with opportunities for professional networking, continuous support from experienced professionals, three business-planning textbooks, as well as “e-books,” and a 6-month subscription to Business Plan Pro’s LivePlan.
The training covers a variety of topics, including business basics, market analysis, marketing strategy, basic business numbers, obtaining financing, building the right team, utilizing the web, cash flow, taxes, and pitching a business plan to potential partners and investors.
