The Launching Success Learning Store, at 133 Prince Ave., in Bellingham, is gearing up to celebrate the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association’s national Neighborhood Toy Store Day on Saturday, Nov. 8.
The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The first 25 people through the door can scratch-off coupons worth up to 50 percent off one item. All customers can spin the store’s “Everyone’s A Winner Wheel” for a variety of prizes. The store is also hosting a scavenger hunt and other activities for kids.
The store will donate five percent of its profits from the day to Blue Skies for Children, a local nonprofit that offers programs and grants wishes for homeless, low-income and foster children.
The national event is to remind consumers about the importance of independent toy stores and the value of shopping within their community, according to a press release.
“Our customers come to us for many reasons like quality and selection, but they especially trust our expertise. They know we can point out age-appropriate products; we can brainstorm gift ideas based on one tiny detail. With some of our customers, we know their preferences and interests so well, we just have to point out certain items the second they walk through the door – we can’t wait!” said store co-owner Jen Zimmerman in a press release. “That’s what running a small business is all about – caring, honest, personal, face-to-face service.”
More than 600 independent toy retailers across the country participate in Neighborhood Toy Store Day.
