Peoples Bank appointed Jim VanderMey to its board of directors and promoted John Voth to senior vice president and Commercial Banking Team Leader for Skagit and Island counties.

VanderMey has more than 40 years of community banking experience, according to a news release from the bank. Voth joined Peoples Bank in 2011, and had previously worked in banking for more than 20 years.

The bank is holding a celebration from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the Mount Vernon Financial Center. Peoples Bank is locally owned and headquartered in Bellingham.
