Lean On Me home care service changes name

Lean On Me At-Home Care, a Lynden-based personal caretaker service, has changed its name to Take My Hand At-Home Care after splitting from its satellite office in Shelton, Wash.

The business began providing caretaker service to Whatcom County seniors in 2009, and simultaneously opened the branch in Shelton. Managing the two offices was difficult to do efficiently, which led to the decision to separate Lean On Me into two companies in mid-2011, Sue Sorensen, owner of the Lynden office, said in a Jan. 12 news release.

The Shelton office will retain the original Lean On Me name. The change went into effect Jan. 1.

Due to state requirements for home care agencies, Sorensen had to reapply for all necessary licenses and pass a state-mandated inspection of her office, policies and procedures before changing the name.

Clients currently receiving care services should not notice any changes, Sorensen said. Take My Hand has the same phone number and same staff as before.
