The Leopold Retirement Residence recently hired Diane Woodworth as its new health and wellness director.
Woodworth has 15 years of experience in a nursing home setting, in addition to three years working in assisted living.
Woodworth, who began her career in long-term care in 1984, graduated with honors from Skagit Valley College in 1994, receiving her registered nursing degree.
She uses a holistic approach to senior care — she is a reiki master and in 2005, received her certification as a Licensed Massage Practitioner.
“My objective at the Leopold is to create a wellness program that will enhance people’s lives and to provide the best care for the residents we work with,” Woodworth said in a press release. “I am really striving to enhance the lives of the residents at the Leopold and allow them to age in a place with dignity and respect.”
Woodworth’s plans include expanding the assisted living program and creating an individual-centered health and wellness program for the Leopold’s independent residents.
