Lettered Streets Coffeehouse plans anniversary giveaways, specials

Lettered Streets Coffeehouse celebrates its five-year anniversary with a series of events, prize drawings, discounts and new menu items from Nov. 1-10.

The coffeehouse is located at 1001 Dupont St. in Bellingham.

Owners Anna Dean and Kjirstin Glessner started Lettered Streets Coffeehouse in 2007, after taking over the former Toad Mountain Coffee, where they both worked as baristas.

“The last five years have been a labor  of love—for this neighborhood, for Bellingham and for the sake of a great cup of coffee,” Dean said, in a press release.

Among the giveaways planned for throughout the week are mugs, coffee beans, $10 for $5 gift certificates and new LSC T-shirts.

The coffeehouse also plans to begin offering locally sourced and house-prepared sandwiches, including cheeses and other goods from Quel Frommage and croissants from La Vie en Rose.

Much of Lettered Streets’ business is from cyclists and walkers. Dean and Glessner expect this trend to continue, since new bike racks, an expanded patio area and newly paved bike lanes on Dupont Street and Northwest Avenue have been recently installed.
