Gov. Christine Gregoire recently appointed Lisa Woo to Bellingham Technical College’s board of trustees. Her term will run from May 2011 through September 2015.
“Lisa Woo’s endorsement and support of local education is of great value to BTC,” BTC President Patricia McKeown said in a press release. “Her perspective on local business and international experience will enhance BTC’s Board of Trustees.”
Woo has long been an active community member in Bellingham. She has been a commercial property and small business owner since 2007, having owned the Gateway building downtown and Red Berry, and has been a property developer since 1999.
She has also worked extensively with the Bellingham Sister City Association and currently serves on numerous boards including: WWU Foundation Board from 2001 to present, Mt. Baker Theatre Board of Directors, Downtown Renaissance Network and Korean Realtors Association. She received her education from Fairhaven College, Western Washington University.
Woo joins the existing BTC Board of Trustees, comprising Chair Jim Groves, Vice Chair Jim Cunningham, Mark Asmundson and Debbie Ahl.
