The Northwest Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects has received a $1,000 grant to supplement its annual scholarship program, which is open to all students from Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties who are entering their junior year or above at an accredited school of architecture.
The additional grant money, which is from the National AIA, will allow the Chapter to make up to $2,000 in scholarships available this year. The Northwest Washington AIA has awarded scholarships for each of the past five years. The scholarships are funded by donations, and from interest on an endowment fund.
Applications for the current round of awards are due July 1.
