Local Kiwanis Club elects new leaders

The Kiwanis Club of Bellingham held their 87th Annual Installation Banquet on Sept. 25.

Officers for the 2009-2010 Kiwanis year are President Jim Carney, Gateway Center Executive Suites; President Elect Dr. Barbara Audley, retired WWU; Secretary Dr. Emily Citron, retired physician; Treasurer Vaughn Hagen of Vaughn Hagen CPA and Past President Rich Everson, United Way.

Board of Director Members are Lyla Tjoelker, Retired; John Wilson, Wilson Furniture; Ralph Gardner, Gardner Life and Health Service; John Howe, Retired; Anita Jackson, Retired; Dr. Bruce Jorgensen, Jorgensen Family Chiropractic; Russ Weston, Retired; and Chelsea Roy, Wachovia Securities.

The Kiwanis Club of Bellingham, formed in 1922, is part of Kiwanis International, a community service organization for men and women. The main goal of Kiwanis is to support programs for children from prenatal to 18 years of age, but many of their projects also benefit the community at large.
