Cascade Prosthetics & Orthotics (P&O), Inc., a prosthetics and orthotics practice with offices in Mount Vernon and Ferndale, recently announced the addition of James Redhed, Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO).
Redhed was hired to fill the role formerly held by Tim Shride at the company’s Ferndale office, and he will help Cascade P&O respond to the local demand for prosthetic and orthotic services.
“James has a tremendous amount of experience coming from a very busy and large hospital [Cleveland Clinic],” said Cindy Diener, CPO at the company’s Ferndale office. “His skills and experience will help us continue to grow our Ferndale practice. We are glad to have the help here at Cascade and we welcome James to our practice.”
Before beginning work at Cascade P&O in September, Redhed worked at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio for 19 years. He is certified in both prosthetics and orthotics. Although his practice at the Cleveland Clinic was comprehensive, James’ particular areas of specialty were the functional management of deformed limbs, education, resident training and unusual clinical cases.
Rehed cites Cascade P&O’s commitment to caring for patients as his main reason for joining the company.
“My primary focus was finding a facility that had a genuine commitment to the highest quality patient care,” Redhed said. “Among the things that drew me here is the warranty Cascade Dafo offers on its products, including custom braces. This is unheard of in our field, and most others.”
Cascade Dafo is the manufacturing sister company of Cascade P&O.
Redhed, who is originally from Seattle, earned his bachelor’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Washington.
“I still have family here, and I love the mountains and ocean. So finding a patient-centered team like Cascade P&O here in the Pacific Northwest was certainly a plus,” said James.
