The Downtown Bellingham Partnership presents the Fourth Annual Bite of Bellingham, an outdoor culinary event where participants sample food from more than 20 Bellingham restaurants while voting for their favorite “bite.” The Bite of Bellingham will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Aug. 1 on the 1200 block of Cornwall Avenue.
Last year’s Bite of Bellingham winners, Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant and Mount Bakery are returning and many of Bellingham’s most popular restaurants have signed up as challengers. An event for all ages, attendees can vote for Bellingham’s “Best Bite,” “Dreamiest Drink,” and “Sweetest Sweet.” Last year’s event drew a crowd of more than 2,500.
Admission to the event is free, with tickets for tastes available for purchase at the event. Bite prices range from one to three tickets and entrees range from four to seven tickets. La Bella Strada Arts Festival, sponsored by Allied Arts of Whatcom County, will also occur on the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Cornwall at the same time.
The 2009 Bite of Bellingham is supported by generous community sponsors including: Portionables Inc., Saturna Capital, City of Bellingham, Comcast, Pacific Continental Realty, LLC., Greenhouse, Cascadia Weekly, KISM, Amjay Screen Printing, Sanitary Service Company, Sunshine Printing, Birch Equipment Rental, Hertz Equipment Rental, NW Safety Signs Inc., and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington.
