A new weekly Whatcom County sports television show is set to start on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

“Whatcom Sports Report,” presented by the Center for New Media, is a collaborative effort of local television professionals, media students and community volunteers. It will feature regular coverage of Whatcom County high school prep and Western Washington University sports, as well as spotlights and interviews covering a range of topics not usually seen in traditional sports news.

The show will be hosted by longtime Bellingham sports journalist Dick Stark and WWU students Emily Petterson and Femi Abebefe.

Producers said they hope to air the program on KVOS television. The show will be available online at the Center for New Media website.
