Melanie Loughmiller of RMC Architects was reelected president of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Bellingham Chapter for 2009 – 2010.
Loughmiller has been a member of the organization for 13 years and served as its president last term. She has also worked as an administrative assistant for RMC since 2000.
The IAAP is a nonprofit association for office professionals with the mission of enhancing their success by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building, and leadership.
In July, Loughmiller attended The Administrative Edge, an international education forum in Minneapolis, which offered workshops and educational sessions on a variety of office and administrative topics.
Loughmiller also renewed her Certified Administrative Professional credential by documenting over 100 hours of continuing education and leadership. She was initially certified in 2006 after being tested on office systems and technology, office administration, management and advanced organizational management.
