A remembrance rally to honor America’s armed forces veterans will start in Lynden and conclude with a short memorial service in Bellingham on Monday, Nov. 12.
Car and motorcycle enthusiasts are encouraged to gather for breakfast from 10-11 a.m. on Nov. 12 at the Fairway Café, 1726 Front St. in Lynden’s Fairway Shopping Center.
The ride will begin at 11 a.m., ending at the Jerns Military Museum, 800 E. Sunset Drive (corner of James Street) in Bellingham.
A short memorial service honoring veterans and featuring a military honor guard is open to the public and will start at 1 p.m.
The Jerns Military Museum, which features uniforms, medals, photographs and newspaper clippings from all branches and multiple wars, will be open before and after the service.
“Many veterans participate in car shows or motorcycle rides,” said Brad Bytnar, owner of Jerns Funeral Chapel, which houses the military museum, in a press release. “This rally gives them and the public a chance to gather and honor those who gave their lives for our country.”
