Kulshan Veterinary Hospital of Lynden is holding a May 5 open house featuring demonstrations, a petting zoo and tours of its remodeled facility.
The open house is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, at 8880 Benson Road, located at the intersection with East Badger Road.
“Our remodel project created a warmer, more inviting atmosphere for our small-animal clients,” Dr. Perry Stanfield, one of the principals at Kulshan Veterinary Hospital, said in an April 23 press release. “We also added four examination rooms, enabling us to diagnose and treat animals more efficiently. In order to stay open while the work was done, we had to make some temporary arrangements. This is our way of thanking everyone for their patience.”
Self-guided tours will include demonstrations in the surgery, laboratory and X-ray rooms.
Visitors will be able to view Kulshan’s capabilities in its small-animal practice involving dogs, cats and small exotic animals, as well as in its large-animal practice, which involved cows, horses, sheep and goats.
Demonstrations of chiropractic, acupuncture and laser-therapy care for animals also will be offered during the open house.
Kulshan Veterinary Hospital is the only facility in Whatcom County accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.
The open house will include free hot dogs, soft drinks and popcorn, plus face painting and a bouncy play-house for children.
Free prizes will be available for all ages.
Kulshan Veterinary Hospital is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Its Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the small-animal practice and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the large-animal practice.
