Maestro Northwest GIS, a startup company specializing in geographic information systems, has been formed by partners Lauren Erickson and Daniel Tepper.
The firm is located in Fairhaven and has produced maps related to farm management, property planning and trail planning. Their services include cartography, spatial analysis and map production for presentations and print projects.
Partner Lauren Erickson graduated from Huxley College of the Environment with a degree in geography, where she specialized in urbanization and agroecology. Daniel Tepper is an advocate for parks and recreation in Whatcom County and began his foray with GIS technology as a result of that interest.
GIS uses innovative software to display data in map-form. It is also used as a system of database management and has recently been adopted to some extent by most government agencies.
